Dr. Eneida O. Roldan, has been named CEO of the FIU HealthCare Network which manages FIU Health, the clinical practice where FIU clinical faculty provide medical services. She had been serving as interim CEO since June.

“Dr. Roldan has extensive experience as a clinician, an educator, and as a healthcare administrator,” said Dr. John A. Rock, founding dean and senior vice president for health affairs, FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. “In her role as CEO of FIU Health, she will lead the college of medicine’s clinical enterprise in serving the need of the university and the community.”

Prior to joining the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine in 2009 as founding faculty, Roldan was the immediate past CEO and president of the Jackson Health System Public Health Trust, and prior to that she was senior vice president, associate chief medical officer and chief administrative officer for Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Before joining Jackson Health System, she was president and CEO of Pan American Hospital, later named Metropolitan Hospital of Miami, which emerged from bankruptcy under her leadership.

Dr. Roldan has served on diverse medical and civic boards at the national and international levels, including as chair of the American Board of Bariatric Medicine and chair of Our Nation’s Health of the American Public Health Association. Most recently, she was named Wharton Fellow by the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business.

In addition to her administrative duties at FIU Health, Roldan will continue to serve as the college’s associate dean for International Affairs and as associate professor in the department of pathology.
