Berkowitz Development Group Inc. has announced the signing of a new long-term lease with Einstein Bagels for some 2,466 square feet at Kendallgate Shopping Center. The national restaurant chain will take space within a freestanding retail building alongside AT&T in the center’s plaza located at 12190 SW 88 St.
Einstein Bagels, which recently reported positive earnings and increasing same store sales, has already begun construction at its new location and expects to open in late August.
Michael Berkowitz, president of Coconut Grove-based Berkowitz Realty Group, served as the leasing representative on behalf of the ownership group, Kendallgate Center Associates LTD.
“Kendallgate Shopping Center’s premier location is attractive to retailers due to its street visibility, co-tenancy and direct access to the turnpike,” Berkowitz said. “Ownership is confident that Einstein Bagels will bring additional value to the center’s current tenancy mix.”
Located at the entrance to West Kendall on the southwest corner of N. Kendall Drive (SW 88th Street) and Florida’s Turnpike interchange, Kendallgate Shopping Center’s retailers enjoy the busy traffic provided as a result of the high population of the area. Notable tenants include Bed Bath & Beyond, DSW, Petco, ULTA, Sports Authority, Chili’s and AT&T.
