The Hanukkah lights provides us with warmth, joy, strength, & inspiration. Such is the purpose of a community-wide celebration to be held at Dadeland Mall this Hanukkah and the many other Chanukah events taking place, including at the Barnes & Nobles West Kendall & The Home Depot in West Kendall.
Chanukkah, a celebration for all time is highlighted by the kindling of a Menorah each night for eight nights of the Holiday. It is a holiday that enriches our lives with the light of tradition. In ancient times, our ancestors rededicated the temple in Jerusalem with the Menorah. Today, we rededicate ourselves to making this world a better and brighter place. Hanukkah also propagates the universal message that ultimately, good will prevail over evil, freedom over oppression, and light over darkness.
In its Hanukkah outreach campaign, Chabad of West Kendall & The Falls join thousands of Chabad centers across the globe that are staging similar public displays of the Menorah and its symbolic lights. From Australia to Africa, Columbia to Hong Kong, New York City’s ground zero to the White House lawn, hundreds of thousands will experience the joy of Hanukkah with Chabad.
Join Chabad in a public display of unity at this exciting Menorah Lighting Ceremony. Bring the kids and make this your special Hanukkah celebration.
The lighting will take place on December 18th from 5 PM until 7 PM. at Dadeland Mall- 7535 N Kendall Drive. (in the new wing of the mall in front of Express). Following the kindling, the program will feature delicious Hanukkah food, children activities, live Hanukkah music, and a great Balloon Show!
But that’s not it! Join the Jewish Center for life of West Kendall & The Falls at the Hanukkah Story Time at the Barnes & Noble in West Kendall where the stories of “Sammy Spider’s First Hanukkah” & “Honeky Hanukah” come alive. This event will include music & special crafts for the little ones and will take place on Sunday, December 14th at 4:30 PM. Barnes & Noble is located at 12405 N. Kendall Drive Miami, FL.
Even more- join us on December 21st for a fun and free Menorah building workshop at the Home Depot in West Kendall. Accompanied by a parent, the children will don aprons, make menorahs from prepared cut wood, paint their creations, and insert candle holders. The menorah is lit during Chanukah which begins on December 16th at night. “The kids love the Menorahs that they make on their own, they treasure it, and they then feel more involved in the holiday,” says Rabbi Getzy Rubashkin, director of the Jewish Center for life. The event is free, but RSVP is required.
