Florida Children’s Baptist Homes to host open house on Dec. 9

Florida Baptist Children’s Homes is inviting everyone in the Miami area on Dec. 9, from 6 to 8 p.m., to enjoy festive treats and to see how the lives of children are being forever changed through the ministry.

There will be jolly good eats, enlightening cottage tours and fun-filled family entertainment. The campus is located at 7748 SW 95 Terr. in Kendall.

“It is a wonderful opportunity to experience a place where we are passionate about helping one more child every day,” said Dr. Jerry Haag, president of Florida Baptist Children’s Homes. “When people provide their time, energy and resources it makes a major impact in a child’s life.”

The need for partners, volunteers and donors is real. This year more than 13,000 children in Florida have been removed from homes due to investigations involving abuse, abandonment or neglect.

Florida Baptist Children’s Homes brought hope to children and families by providing more than 155,000 services last year through its local and global ministries.

While not expected, donations would be a huge blessing for children in Miami. Items that would make a major impact include: non-perishable foods, pajamas, socks and paper or personal hygiene goods.

People can contact Florida Baptist Children’s Homes to learn about opportunities to bless children by helping meet the campus’s Gingerbread Gift needs. This program ensures that every child has a special gift under the Christmas tree.

For more information call the campus at 305-271-4121 or send email to Miami.FL@FBCHomes.org. People also can visit the Florida Baptist Children’s Homes website at www.FBCHomes.org.
