KRMC files application for more operating rooms, patient beds

Kendall Regional Medical Center (KRMC) plans to expand its facilities with new operating rooms in a four-story building off Bird Road at Florida’s Turnpike.

A plan filed with Miami-Dade County by HCA Holdings, the KRMC parent company, would build a 22,000-squarefoot structure above an existing surface parking lot.

The project is planned to add four operating rooms and 14 hospital beds to the KRMC complex. Timetable for development and construction were not immediately available preceding CDMP (Comprehensive Development Master Plan) approval.

KRMC recently opened a burn care unit and operates one of two Miami-Dade trauma centers with rooftop helicopter access.
