MDX Names Former FBI Supervisory Special Agent and Ethics Instructor as General Counsel

MDX has named Carlos M. Zaldivar, Esquire as in house General Counsel. Mr. Zaldivar has 20 twenty years of experience as a General Counsel, Trial Lawyer and was a Supervisory Special Agent/General Counsel with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Mr. Zaldivar brings FBI experience as a General Counsel and a certified Ethics Instructor to MDX’s legal division. He previously directed legal operations for the FBI’s Miami and San Juan, Puerto Rico divisions. He provided legal opinions to agents, supervisors and executive management and served as General Counsel for 10 Command Post operations.

“Carlos brings a high level of legal and ethics expertise to assist our board in maintaining the standards the residents of Miami-Dade County expect,” said Javier Rodriguez, MDX Executive Director. “We are fortunate to have him.”

Mr. Zaldivar conducted and supervised complex investigations into financial and money laundering schemes, narcotics distribution, extortion, kidnap and ransom, and other criminal enterprises.  During his career with the FBI, he received an FBI Director’s Award for drafting three expedite wire intercept affidavits to support the successful recovery of a child who had been kidnapped.

Following the FBI, Mr. Zaldivar entered private practice as a trial attorney and represented clients in both civil and criminal matter and has appeared in local, state and federal courts in numerous jurisdictions.  Most recently, Mr. Zaldivar served as the General Counsel for an international manufacturing company that was based in Miami, FL that had operations in China, Central America and South America.  Mr. Zaldivar holds a license to practice law in Florida, New Jersey and Pennsylvania (inactive).  Mr. Zaldivar graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Villanova University and earned his Juris Doctor Degree with a Tax Honor’s Certificate from Rutger’s University.
