The Miami Sunset Senior High’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.

The group’s “Decade of Excellence” continued with another outstanding performance at the FBLA District 26 competition, which conducted its award ceremony on Monday, Jan. 22, at South Dade High School.

The following winners qualified to represent Miami Sunset at the Florida FBLA State Leadership Conference in Orlando, Mar 16-19, where they will compete against approximately 4,000 of the best FBLA members from around the Sunshine State in various events.

Qualifying students:
Hurma Aziz, freshman, first place in Introduction to Public Speaking;
Mohammad Aziz, junior, first place in Help Desk;
Angelica Batista, sophomore, first place in Introduction to Business Presentation;
Emily Miranda, sophomore, first place in Broadcast Journalism;
Katherine Espertin, junior, first place in Client Service;
Annette Rodriguez and Veronica Alvarez, both juniors, first place in Social Media Campaign;
Paul Salebe, sophomore, first place in Introduction to Parliamentary Procedure;
Amanda Gomez, junior, second place in Public Speaking;
Jasmine Botello, junior, second place in Sales Presentation;
Alejandro Gonzalez and Justin Gonzalez, both seniors, second place in Business Ethics;
Sejul Phanord, senior, second place in Emerging Business Issues, and
Alfonso Castillo and Victoria Puceddu, both freshmen, second place in Digital Video Production.
