More than 300 residents gather to watch the screening of Brave at Westwind Lakes Park in West Kendall.

More than 300 residents joined Miami- Dade Commissioner Juan C. Zapata on Friday, Apr. 19, to watch the screening of Brave at Westwind Lakes Park in West Kendall.

The event was part of the commissioner’s free “Movie Night at the Park” events, which he has hosted several times this year. Families were able enjoy a fun-filled evening with free popcorn and a bounce house for kids. Residents also were able to enjoy and purchase food from 12 food trucks present on-site.

“Our turnout grows with every movie night as families find out about this fun, affordable way to spend time together,” Commissioner Zapata said. “These events are a great way to spend quality time with our families and get to know our neighbors. Seeing the kids laugh and enjoy themselves brings a smile to my face every time.”
