Officer nabs robbery suspect, earns award

Officer nabs robbery suspect, earns awardNabbing a robbery suspect without incident earned Miami-Dade Police Officer Gladston Lawson “Officer of the Month” honors in Kendall District after he twice chased a knife-wielding assailant near Williamson Cadillac, 7815 SW 104 St., at 11:49 a.m. on Jan. 20. Working a “hot spot” detail in the High Pines area of East Kendall, Lawson heard a BOLO (be on lookout), immediately began canvassing the area and soon arrested a fleeing subject, later positively identified by a woman victimized in the armed robbery attempt.
