Police officers ‘sniff’ out active marijuana laboratory

“Strong odor of cannabis” led Miami-Dade Police Hammocks District Officers Fabian Owens and Ramon Suescun to uncover a hydroponic farm at 15222 SW 161 Terr. on Oct. 17 after routinely checking ownership of a van suspected to be involved in area robberies. Calling for Narcotics Bureau detectives, a search warrant led to discovery of an active marijuana laboratory with drug paraphernalia, leading to a timely arrest and dismantling of the equipment.
