Riviera Day School recently honored students Nikhil Kumar, recipient of the Lorin E. Coppock Award, and Lara Afonso Martinez who received the Bettie Murfin Golden Award.
The Lorin E. Coppock Award is given to two students — a top all around student in fifth grade and a top all around student at Riviera Preparatory School.
This year’s Prep award was given to Alexis Johnston. Recipients represent excellence in academics, character and leadership. The award is named after Riviera’s founder, Lorin E. Coppock.
The Bettie Murfin Golden Award is given annually to a fifth grader with the highest academic achievement. It is named after a long time and much loved teacher who taught at Riviera for more than 30 years.
