Series of KFHA election forums to begin July 19

The first in a series of three pre-election “Meet the Candidate” public forums hosted bythe Kendall Federation of Homeowner Associations is scheduled on Tuesday, July 19, at 7 p.m., in the Civic Pavilion at Village Shopping Center, 8659 SW 124 Ave.

Annette Taddeo will square off with former U.S. Rep. Joe Garcia in what is expected to be a lively contest for the Democratic nomination to seek the 26th District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Appearing on a second panel the same night will be incumbent Miami-Dade Commissioner Xavier Suarez and opponent Michael Castro in the race for Suarez’s District 7 seat.

KFHA President Michael Rosenberg urges Kendall voters to “bring your questions to meet and greet the candidates who will be representing you in the coming years.”

A second KFHA forum has been set for 7 p.m. in the same location on Monday, Aug. 1, for another doubleheader when candidates Ross Hancock and Dr. Jeffrey Solomon take the dais to win support for election to the Florida House District 115 seat.

They will be followed by Andrew Korge, Andrew Rivas Logan and Dwight Bullard who seek the Florida Senate District 40 seat.

The next night, Tuesday, Aug 2, begins with candidate Carlos Pria, running for the Florida House in District 118, followed by two District 7 School Board candidates, incumbent Lubby Navarro and West Kendall school administrator and former teacher Aster Mohamad.

All appear on the Tuesday, Aug. 30, primary ballot preceding the general election, Tue., Nov. 8.
