St. Brendan High School’s Medical Science Academy students recently experienced local marine life and explored the ecosystem up close in the Florida Keys.

They visited the Turtle Hospital in Marathon and spent the weekend snorkeling and in tide pools collecting specimens of invertebrates such as starfish, sea urchins, sea hares, and sea cucumbers for study. Students also dissected a Southern Stingray and a Bonnethead Shark.
