Members of the Middle School team include Manuel Gaunaurd, Jesus Javier Rodriguez, Marcel Van Hemert, Dibe Marie Di Gregorio and Luciana Solórzano, and their teacher Ana Centurion.

St. Theresa Catholic School recently participated in the Miami-Dade Geography Bee conducted at Miami Dade College North Campus.

It was double elimination event and there was very intense competition. The Middle School team took first place and the Primary team finished in second place.

The Primary team consisted of fourth graders Ryan Hidalgo, Carolina De La Vega, Carlos Jesus Morales, and third graders Hely Santeliz and Mario Solorzano with alternate Nico Gaunaurd.

The Middle School team was composed of sixth graders Marcel Van Hemert, Dibe Marie Di Gregorio, Jesus Javier Rodriguez, Luciana Solórzano and Manuel Gaunaurd.

  1. Congratulations to St. Theresa. Since the article fails to do so, we should also mention and congratulate the Coral Gables Elementary students for placing 1st and winning that very same bee. Those students worked hard to win the competition, not losing a single match during the double elimination tournament. Congratulations to them, and all who participated.
