Representing the 11th Judicial Circuit, the Terra Environmental Research Institute Mock Trial team recently placed fourth in the Florida High School Mock Trial State Finals.
The team of Nick Ramos, Amin Colominas, Amber Tavakoly, Oriana Daly, Maria Agudelo, Alexander Kaiser, Kevin Portela and Brooke Karner, defeated 20 other Miami-Dade County teams to qualify for the state competition.
Despite being first timers at the state level, the team fared very well. Standout performances of particular note at the state tournament were delivered by Oriana Daly and Nicolas Ramos, who received the Best Witness and Best Attorney awards respectively.
