Cadillac Ranch All-American Bar and Grill celebrated its grand opening at The Palms in Kendall on July 7.
Jorge Pena, founder of the West Kendall Business Association, Lourdes Folgosa, executive director of Autism Speaks, and Kristen Fraga and Blanca Blanco, Cadillac Ranch event and marketing managers, started the festivities with the cutting of the red ribbon.
Doors opened at 4 p.m. to a celebration that included local VIP’s, officials and media. Guests were treated to complimentary cocktails and appetizers, ranging from Seared Ahi Tuna to Cowboy Bite Burgers. Following the VIP party was a ticket-only celebration from 6 to 10 p.m., filled with guests who enjoyed 50 percent off cocktails. Opening to the public at 10 p.m., Cadillac Ranch was wall to wall filled with locals who had been anticipating the opening.
All night, outdoor guests were treated to the sounds of a live guitarist while enjoying their meal on the outdoor lakeside patio. Indoors, guests were lining up at the bar to get a taste of one of 40 beers on tap.
The famous mechanical bull attracted guests all night long. With all bull-riding proceeds going towards Autism Speaks there was not a minute that went by where somebody wasn’t on the bull.
One in every 110 children is affected by autism and currently costs the nation more than $35 billion per year. With only 5 percent of research funding going towards autism research, Cadillac Ranch decided to pair with the organization to help raise funds, selling over 100 bull rides that night.
Centrally located at The Palms at Town and Country, 11735 Sherry Lane, and open seven days a week from 11 a.m.-midnight Sunday through Tuesday and 11-4 a.m. Wednesday through Saturday, Cadillac Ranch is sure to bring the mixture of great food and nightlife for which the community has been waiting.
