The Miami Beach INcard turns 4!

The Miami Beach INcard turns 4!The Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce, City National Bank and the Greater Miami Beach community celebrated the 4th anniversary of the INcard program on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Dozens of INcard vendors showcased their great products and services, from Café Avanti’s delicious Italian dishes to Tommy Hilfiger’s summer collection. The lively music and entertainment, provided by 84 West Studios, kept the atmosphere fun and energetic.

Jeff Greene, from 84 West Studios, introduced the Master of Ceremonies for the night’s festivities Alan Lips, Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce Chairman. Lips recognized the partners of the INcard program – VCA, GMCVB and the City of Miami Beach which began this program in 2009 as a business stimulus; the program is designed to encourage cardholders to shop at INcard businesses by providing discounts and promotions. Joining Lips was the Vice Chairman of the Chamber and INcard Chair, Stephanie Ruiz. Ruiz recognized all INcard vendors, Cy’s Linens for donating linens for the event, 84 West Studios for the entertainment and the Codiscan team for creating the mobile app, now at more than 1,500 downloads!

“The INcard began as an initiative of the Mayor’s Blue Ribbon Taskforce for Tourism, and has succeeded in generating business from Tourists and Residents alike as well as from our neighbors across the bay. It has been gratifying to serve as the Chairman and accelerate this program to help our local businesses.”

City National Bank, the official sponsor of the Miami Beach INcard, has maintained continuous support and involvement in the program. Dustin Symes, First Vice President at City National Bank, emphasized the importance of community partnerships and noted the bank was voted ‘Community Bank of the Year’ by South Florida Business Journal in 2011. The Bank, founded in 1946 on 71st Street in Miami Beach has their roots firmly planted in Miami Beach and are committed to giving back to the community.

Chairman Alan Lips raffled an abundance of prizes, from a stay at the Gale Hotel, $100 gift certificate to Shula’s, Marlins tickets, VIP tickets to the Stevie B and Debbie Deb concert at Magic City Casino, museum passes and much more.

Lips used a game show format to quiz contestants about INcard vendors, and the game show participants were eager to win prizes. There were a few rounds of adult participants, and then they brought up the kids. The kids answered general questions about Miami. For example, “Name 3 players of the Miami Heat” or “What museum is off of the MacArthur Causeway?” Their prizes included Miami Children’s Museum passes, Marlins tickets and more.

The celebration wrapped up with the INcard birthday cake and the crowd joined Chamber President & CEO Jerry Libbin in singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to the INcard. Continuing his annual tradition, Jerry Libbin cut the delicious birthday cake, provided by Centerplate. The INcard celebrated a great year and is looking forward to another fantastic year. There have been over 360,000 cards distributed, 1,500 mobile app downloads, over 60,000 newsletter subscribers and nearly 300 participating vendors.
