Art Stars: Where Charity, Animals and Art will shine

Art Stars: Where Charity, Animals and Art will shineThe stars will align on Friday, April 19, 2013 in Miami Beach at a premiere event connecting The Humane Society of Greater Miami’s PetNet with animal advocates and artists; and their respective desire to make a difference. This event signifies a celebration of shared values of appreciation of art, creativity, compassion and charity.

Art Stars guests arriving at Mondrian South Beach will be treated to an amazing experience as the ever-elegant hotel will be transformed into a sophisticated and sexy backdrop for this affair. Upon arrival, “Miami Model Citizens” hostesses, lively ambiance and a gallery pop-up setting will welcome the guests. Custom-designed specialty cocktails, wine and passed hors d’oeuvres provided by Mondrian South Beach will be offered as guests mingle and enjoy the art work presented at Art Stars. Many of the featured artists will be in attendance at the event, and available to share insights about their art and their personal journey in the fascinating world of art.

Art is a prominent and integral aspect of Art Stars- curated and displayed to present a total look of sophistication and beauty. Many artists were juried and twelve ultimately selected to participate – each donating one piece, and bringing several additional pieces for sale in the silent auction. A total of approximately thirty-five works of art will comprise the silent auction. Bidding will commence at $500 for the donated pieces and values range from $1,000 to $20,000 for each art work. Throughout the event, the artists and their representatives will discuss the artwork, and encourage guests to bid on the pieces – after all, it’s for a great cause! The link between community and charity is essential, and a great platform to support.

The artists represented are some of the finest contemporary artists in Miami today, with a wide range of backgrounds, nationalities and style: J Bellicchi, Emil Bodour, Eleazar Delgado, Joey Diez, Stephen Gamson, Bruce Grayson, Leni Ibarguengoytia, Monique Lasooj, Erin Parish, David Siqueiros, and Mark T. Smith.

In addition to a fantastic lineup of artists and their work, the event has the support of a dedicated host committee and sponsors. Co-chairs of the event are Judy Holm and Ben Wilson; Honorary Host Committee Co-chairs Jerry Libbin and Michael Gongora. Host Committee members include Miami Beach Chamber Arts and Culture Council Chair Brian Schriner, Council members Aaron Resnick, Megan Riley and Vanessa Menkes, joined by these exceptional supporters of art and charity: Aaron Glickman, Adam Greenberg, Alex Cohen, Alexander Orlofsky , Angela Santamaria, Calvin Kohli, Ed Miranda, Edward Oberle Lopez, Heidi Rubio, Irene Korge, Ivan Rusilko, Jeff Feldman, Jessica Wade Pfeffer, Kate Shanley, Kevin Gorp, Laura Coppelman, Marcella & Daniel Novela, Mark Hasche-DeRosa, Michael Grieco, Myra Wexler, Nick Betancourt, Norm Caldwell, Peter De Rosa, Robert Fournier, Sean McCormick, Tiffany Rosen, Tim Walker; with special thanks to Mike Margulies, Anaely Delgado, Courtland Lantaff, Jackie Mailhe, and Brianna Corrado.
