A resident of Miami-Dade County, Carol “Jodie” Breece currently works in the Broward County Office of the Inspector General where she is the ethics council. In this role, Breece supervises ethics and corruption investigations and prosecutes ethics laws applicable to public officials and employees.

Prior to her current position, Breece worked in the Florida Office of the Attorney General as chief assistant statewide prosecutor. Breece investigated and prosecuted complex white-collar and racketeering cases filed in the circuit courts in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties and managed the activities and personnel of the Miami-Dade Bureau of the Office of Statewide Prosecution.

She has extensive grand jury and post trial litigation experience it in cases including conspiracy, racketeering, aggravated white-collar crime, money laundering, tax fraud, public corruption, and more. Breece served as a Miami-Dade County assistant state attorney from 1990 to 1994 where she prosecuted drug trafficking, attempted murders, kidnappings, sexual batteries, domestic violence, and major violent crimes.
