The Alton Road Business Association (ARBA),, is celebrating a major milestone after two years of road construction by organizing “Let’s Meet On Alton.” The 300 businesses/ property owners located along Alton Road (between Dade Boulevard and Fifth Street) will welcome residents back by promoting a month-long calendar of events, promotions and savings during January 2015.

“Let’s Meet On Alton has been a huge success thanks to our partners, the community and local businesses,” said Community Relations Director and Real Estate Investor Mark Samuelian. “Also, the Chamber has been a great asset for us by hosting Chamber events all over Alton Road.”

The month kicked-off with a ribbon cutting and press event including officials from the City of Miami Beach. The Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce, a strategic partner of ARBA, will also host a number of events on Alton Road throughout the month. In addition, many businesses will take part in hosting special in-store promotions, and offering discounts to Alton patrons.

On January 10, BankUnited hosted a Meet & Greet reception with City Officials and business leaders. Afterwards, Miami Beach residents were invited to participate in the first annual Let’s Meet On Alton Road Scavenger Hunt. Families enjoyed ARBA’s fun family event which started and ended at McDonalds. The event was a huge success.

Alton Road is a critical shopping artery for Miami Beach with more than half of the city residents shopping there weekly. However, since April 2013, the Florida Department of Transportation’s Alton Road construction project has been a major hindrance to local commerce. Now, as two-way traffic for north and south bound traffic is reestablished between Eighth and 17th Streets, it is time for ARBA to say thank you to the residents who supported them during construction.
