Aaron Perry, currently the managing partner and co-owner of Sobol-Perry Fashion Productions Inc., is an invaluable asset to the Miami Beach community at large. At the forefront of any issue that affects Miami Beach, whether it is chairing the Committee to review Gaming or spearheading the outreach efforts for the recent 502 resort tax campaign and the initiative to renovate of the convention center, Perry has been an integral part, collaborating with all stakeholders in the City’s best interest. Education is at the heart of his altruistic efforts, serving on the board of the Miami Beach Education Foundation Board and the City’s Quality of Education Committee. Most recently, he initiated the movement to name the High School Drive, Rosann Sidener Way.
In his role at Sobol-Perry, he focuses on the development of strategic business partnerships and the global expansion of the Miami Fashion Week brand. Sobol-Perry owns a number of brands including the wildly successful Miami Fashion Week; this year’s production, which will take place from March 20-24 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, marks the event’s 15th anniversary. In addition, Sobol-Perry owns Miami International Bridal Week and The Fashion Collective Pop-Up Boutique Show. Philanthropy is also a priority for his company. Miami Fashion Week’s Foundation provides scholarships to emerging talents from across the globe, including last year’s winners from India, Austraila and Poland. Additionally, Sobol-Perry recognizes the community’s most generous philanthropists by hosting their annual Humanitarian Awards party which takes place this year on February 7th at the Mondrian.
Coupling his business acumen with community leadership strength is what has led him to be so impactful with the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce. While serving on the Mayor’s Blue Ribbon Taskforce for Tourism, Perry played a key role in the development of the INcard program, a business stimulus program, which boosted Miami Beach vendors during the recession and continues to grow.
As a Past Chairman of the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce, he had the strategic foresight to implement a leadership infrastructure and attract the collaboration of Miami Beach’s strongest business leaders to build the 91 year old Chamber to National recognition for which he was recognized by his peers with the 2012 Past Chairman Award.
The “Aaron B. Perry Innovation in Business Award” was created by the Chamber to honor Perry’s accomplishments in supporting the local economy. Awarded annually, this accolade honors a business leader who has used creative tactics to help lead their organization down a road to success. Past recipients include business and music entrepreneur Emilio Estefan and automotive magnet, Warren Zinn with this year’s award being presented to owner of The Forge, Shareef Malnik.
Perry’s service to the Chamber did not stop with his tenure as Chairman. He currently sits on the Chamber’s Executive Board and plays a key leadership role on other Chamber Councils including Government Affairs, Finance and Marketing. He has also served as Chair of the Chamber’s Dinner Gala Committee for four consecutive years
In 2010, Mr. Perry oversaw the formation of a partnership between the Miami Beach Chamber and Community Newspapers to create the Miami Beach News, a bi-weekly publication serving the citizens and business community on Miami Beach. He continues to serve as the chairman of the editorial board.
Mr. Perry is also the co-founder of Reputation Protection Group, a web based company focused on online reputation management.
In 2010, Aaron was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Miami Beach Visitors and Convention Authority by the City of Miami Beach Commission. Most recently, he was selected as a member of the prestigious City of Miami Beach Charter Review and Revision Board. Aaron Perry is truly devoted to the Miami Beach community; he is an example for citizens everywhere.
