Letter from the Chair

Now that we are officially into summer, I wanted to congratulate all the Miami Beach Senior High seniors that received scholarships from the Miami Beach Chamber Education Foundation in conjunction with local businesses. Spearheaded by the Chamber, the Miami Beach Chamber Education Foundation is committed to supporting students within the Miami Beach feeder pattern schools. I would like to congratulate all the organizations and families that contributed funds to the scholarship program and business leaders that served as judges.

This year, we awarded the following eight seniors with $1,000 scholarships:
• Pearl Keane – Serena Williams Scholarship
• Manuel Izquierdo – Atlantic Broadband Scholarship
• Elizabeth Hopkins – Bob Balsam Scholarship
• Emily Groff- Leon Manne Scholarship
• Giovanna Zambrano – Michael Aller AOHT Scholarship
• Marielle Nicole Panizales – AAA Miami Locksmith Scholarship
• Mary Figueroa – MBCEF Scholarship
• Robert Berryman – Paul Linder Scholarship

Though its summer, and traditionally known as slow season on the beach, our Chamber staff is diligently working on some amazing events that I would like to put on your radar. On Friday, August 27, at the St. Regis, we will be hosting our Champions of Business Panel, which is presented by the Chamber’s Emerging Leadership Council. At this event, presented by City National Bank, we interview successful entrepreneurs and learn what made them successful. On September 24, at 1 Hotel South Beach, the Chamber will be hosting its Real Estate Luncheon, which is organized by our Real Estate Council. The title sponsor of the event is Miami New Construction Show and it boasts to be a glamourous event featuring mini panels between mega developers, buyers and their ultra VIP clients/buyers. Both of these events will surely sell out and I encourage you to purchase your tickets today by calling the Chamber at 305-674-1300.

See You Soon!
