The Magic City Casino in Miami unveiled its 2010 – 2011 outdoor amphitheatre schedule that features a wide variety of choices for music and sports fans alike. The season kicks off on Thursday night, November 4th with a special concert by Jon Secada along with guest appearances by Lissette, Willy Chirino and Olivia Newton-John. The concert also marks the opening of Secada’s lounge in partnership with the Magic City Casino. Secada’s will offer live entertainment Thursday through Sunday from November until May 30th.
Thursday evenings will feature Miami Rock Star Karaoke, an upscale karaoke contest offering cash prizes, in which contestants can not only sing, but play instruments as well. Friday nights will feature a variety of options starting with Carnaval and continuing in the winter and spring with Bailar Miami, Magic City Casino’s popular dance contest. Saturday evenings will showcase national and local recording artists, with a double billing on November 13th featuring The Grass Roots opening for Blood Sweat and Tears.
A week later, a trio of Latin acts take the stage as Albita, Isaac Delgado and 3 de la Habana perform on November 20th. The season is highlighted by Joan Jett and The Blackhearts on December 18th and Christopher Cross and Air Supply on January 22nd. Sunday nights Magic City Casino will present Let’s Make A Magic Deal, a throwback to the Monty Hall-hosted show from the 1970’s. Contestants will compete for cash and prizes every Sunday evening from 7PM until 9PM.
Boxing enthusiasts should mark their calendars beginning Friday night, November 19th when Badia Spices presents Friday Night Fights at the casino. The best local pugilists will be featured once a month trading punches under the lights. Something for everyone is available as the casino enters its sophomore season of operation.
