On December 12, 2013, in the beautiful Miami Beach Botanical Garden setting, the Board of Directors of the Miami Beach Leadership Academy Alumni Association (MBLAAA) along with over 100 Association members were honored to welcome newly elected Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine to address the association. The Mayor spoke eloquently of his goals and hopes for Miami Beach and his administration to the enthusiastic and receptive audience. The Association was also honored to have in attendance the newly elected City Commissioner Michael Grieco, current Commissioner Ed Tobin and State Representative David Richardson. In addition to the Miami Beach elected officials, this semi-annual event during the Holiday season also sponsored an Alumni Association toy drive to support the efforts of the City of Miami Beach Fire Dept. annual drive.
The Miami Beach Leadership Academy Alumni Association is here to inform, present and make known to all residents of Miami Beach, the existence of the City sponsored, 12-week Leadership Academy course and the benefits it offers by active and civic participation in the weekly classes. MBLAAA offers all graduate members of the Academy the avenue for further participation in City Government, Committees, Boards and Neighborhood Associations.
