On Wednesday, January 26, 2011, the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce will continue the Chamber’s tradition of recognizing the accomplishments of exceptional business professionals that help build and strengthen the foundation of the Miami Beach community and surrounding areas at the Champions of Business Awards Luncheon, sponsored by BB&T. A unique and new award, the Aaron B. Perry Innovation in Business Award, will be bestowed upon Emilio Estefan this year as part of an initiative to recognize innovative business practices.
The Aaron B. Perry Innovation in Business Award was created to address the historical significance of innovation in business and the effect on the Chamber as well as the accomplishments of recent Chairman of the Board, Aaron B. Perry. “Aaron took the helm at the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce at a time when our organization was going through a lot of changes and needed a leader to pull through and bring together the various components that make the organization successful,” says Jerry Libbin, President and CEO of the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce. “Aaron redefined what a Chamber of Commerce does and tied together strategic business opportunities taking our chamber to the next level.”
The Aaron B. Perry Innovation in Business Award was created to honor an individual who has pioneered an effective strategy for business on Miami Beach and in the surrounding community. For over the past 89 years, the Chamber has played a vital role in Miami Beach’s business community, recognizing the importance of modernization and constant improvement of best practices. The award recognizes Aaron’s selfless dedication to the organization while incorporating modern business trends such as the INcard which provide Miami Beach a global presence.
“Aaron’s diligent work ethic and communication with his board and chamber members created a platform for the Chamber’s future success,” says Jason Loeb, current Chairman. “It is a great honor to follow his legacy of dedication, hard work and community.”
This year’s Champions of Business Award Luncheon will be held at 11:00 am at Eden Roc Renaissance Miami Beach, located at 4525 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach and is open to the public.
