Miami Beach Goes Pink for Breast Cancer

Pink…the color that many times means a little girls room, a rosy cheek, or a blooming flower. Skipped on the ROYGBIV train, Pink doesn’t always get it’s true recognition. Fortunately, the Miami Beach Community forever changed that on October 3rd when Soundscape Park became a vibrant PINK for Breast Cancer Awareness.

EBeauty.com and the American Cancer Society joined forces for the best possible cause in true Miami style. Breaking a sweat, connecting with one another and being outside in our tropical paradise led to happy hearts for hundreds of Miami Beach residents.

The instruments played by the New World Symphony matched the spirit of the community during a beautifully taught yoga practice.

Commencing the flow at sunset and ending amongst twilight, the flow was taught by Amy Dannheim, Sara Quiriconi and Lina Vallejo. Pride filled the atmosphere as yoga students of all ages, new friends and neighbors united for a great purpose. “Yoga allows the body and mind to speak together as one, and right now as a community, we get to do that together,” said Sara Quiriconi, yoga instructor and survivor.

The entire park was still as President of EBeauty, Carolyn Keller presented centerstage. “You are not alone during this difficult time,” she graciously tells the touched community. Following her warm words, she explained EBeauty.com. Her company, close to her heart, is a wig exchange program for women undergoing treatment for cancer. Keller’s sister-inlaw Laura, who present at Soundscape on Saturday, was the first wig recipient to receive from the program.

As Savasana and the Symphony musical performance came to a close, it was time to see Miami pink. Beside a sea of wigs from Ricky’s, Zico beverages, wall cast projections by Jason Boogie Vj Av8, and a pink Miami Beach Police car, Miami followed Washington DC and New York as the Symphony building lit up a gorgeous pink. Between 10,000 participants at Marlins Park walk that morning and an evening of community magic, Miami Beach shined its finest shade.
