Congratulations to Alec J. Goldberg, a Junior from Miami Beach Senior High School for his recent academic successes.

Goldberg was selected as one of the winners of M-DCPS’s 2014 Black History Essay contest for his piece on Richard Sherman, from the Seattle Seahawks. He won 1st place out of all high schools in Miami-Dade County who submitted essays. Alec was awarded a certificate and a $200 U.S. savings bond.

Recently, as the Vice President of Speech & Debate at Beach High, he made it to quarter finals at the Harvard Debate Tournament for his Original Oratory presentation of “A Feedback Folly.” From June 17-19 Goldberg will be attending the National Speech & Debate Tournament, attended by more than 7,000 high school students in Overland Park, Kansas.
