The GMCVB “Center of It All” media campaign promoting the Miami Beach Convention Center renovation and expansion was a great success, generating 1.3 million paid search impressions, 10 thousand clicks to the landing page and 77 email submissions. The campaign ran for the month of January coinciding with the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) Annual Meeting in Vancouver. Among the partners used for this campaign were AdRoll, PCMA Convene, Meeting News and Conference and Meetings World.

GMCVB 25TH ANNUAL H.O.T. CHALLENGE GOLF TOURNAMENT TO BE HELD THURSDAY, MAY 13, 2016 AT THE MIAMI BEACH GOLF CLUB
The GMCVB organizes the Hospitality Open Golf Tournament (H.O.T.) to fund scholarships for men and women of African heritage committed to working in the local visitor industry upon graduation, as well as the GMCVB’s multicultural tourism programs. The tournament provides a great opportunity to enjoy the renowned golf courses at the Miami Beach Golf Club and mingle with golfers of all skill levels – all for a great cause. The BHI is a not-for-profit organization that was established in 1991 by the GMCVB to increase and expand the participation by African Americans in Miami-Dade County’s visitor industry.

GMCVB TRAVEL INDUSTRY SALES SELLS GREATER MIAMI AT ITB 2016 IN BERLIN
GMCVB Travel Industry Sales Team and in-market representatives promoted Greater Miami and the Beaches at ITB 2016 in Berlin, Germany March 9-13, 2016. The branded Miami booth showcased the destination’s unique Boutique Hotels and signature Art Deco style. ITB is the largest tourism trade show in the world. ITB 2015 attracted more than 110,000 trade visitors, 50,000 consumers and 10,000 exhibitors from 180+ countries. The following GMCVB Partners will be joining the Bureau at the event: Trump National Doral Miami, Thompson Hotel Miami Beach and Grand Beach Hotel Group.

GMCVB TEAM SELLS AND PROMOTES MIAMI AT ANATO SHOW IN COLOMBIA
The GMCVB Team traveled to Bogota, Colombia in late February for the 2016 ANATO (Asociación Colombiana de Agencias de Viajes y Turismo) show. GMCVB Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Rolando Aedo was joined by the Travel Industry Sales Team, the Media Relations Team and a delegation of 13 GMCVB Partners at the show. Press interviews were arranged for the Miami Team which touted the latest happenings in Greater Miami including the Miami Beach Convention Center renovation, unique neighborhoods, signature attractions, dining and accommodations. ANATO is Colombia’s most important commercial tourism event and one of the three most important in Latin America.

GMCVB SUPPORTS CITY OF MIAMI BEACH’S “KEEP MIAMI BEACH CLEAN” ANTI-LITTER CAMPAIGN
A year after committing to become the greenest city in America, the City of Miami Beach has introduced the “Keep Miami Beach Clean” campaign, a yearlong, attention-grabbing anti-litter effort that encourages the community to keep Miami Beach in shape. Throughout the year, “Keep Miami Beach Clean” will incorporate Miami Beach fitness professionals, who are also residents, into campaign imagery, as they keep fit while properly disposing their trash. The city has also partnered with local, reputable fitness brands, such as greenmonkey® yoga to help gain awareness for its initiative in the community, both online and offline.
