Miami-Dade Animal Services will participate in second annual Clear The Shelters

CTS dogThe life-saving Clear the Shelters nationwide pet adoption event returns on Saturday, July 23, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.. Miami-Dade Animal Services (Animal Services) will join local television stations NBC 6 South Florida/WTVJ, Telemundo 51/WSCV and other shelters across South Florida to find every shelter pet a loving forever home.

Animal Services will host the event at the Pet Adoption and Protection Center, located at 3599 NW 79 Avenue in Doral, FL. Adoption fees will be waived for all dogs and cats with adopter only responsible for $27 license fee for dogs. Adoptions include spay/neuter surgery, microchip, deworming and age-appropriate vaccines.

This year’s Clear the Shelters event comes after last year’s highly successful inaugural effort, which resulted in 161 in-shelter pet adoptions from Animal Services finding new homes and nearly 20,000 pets finding homes nationwide.

Leading up to the event, NBC 6 South Florida and Telemundo 51 will feature special programming for Clear the Shelters, with a live broadcasting of NBC 6 South Florida’s 6 in the Mix from the Pet Adoption and Protection Center on Friday, July 22, 2016 at 11:30 a.m.
