McDonald’s Teams Up with the Florida Marlins & Hispanic Heritage Baseball Museum

By Natalie Veliz….
On August 12, more than 100 local young players will spend the afternoon with coaches of the Marlins RBI league at a free McDonald’s youth baseball clinic where they will be taught the drills to improve their baseball techniques as well as tips on how professional players prepare for the big game.  This event will take place at the Miami Lakes Optimist Park located at 6411 NW 162 Street.

McDonald’s will provide a McDonald’s jersey, cap and three tickets to the Marlins-Cardinals game at Sun Life Stadium.  In addition, 20 clinic participants will be selected to participate in an on-field experience before the big game where they will visit the Marlins dugout and batting cages, watch their favorite Marlins players during batting practice, take photos and receive a Marlins gift bag.

McDonald’s believes in offering kids opportunities to help encourage them to succeed both on and off the field. The baseball clinics are part of McDonald’s partnership with the HHBM and the Marlins to make unique big league opportunities available to local youth. The partnership includes a youth baseball clinic, free pre-game activities, an exceptional in-stadium visit for select children, and a recognition ceremony for a special Latino coach, player or retiree.
