Sock Drive for the Homeless

Holiday SocksIn honor of the Miami-Dade Homeless Trust’s Homeless Awareness Day, November 6, 2014, the City of North Miami Beach, presents “Socks on a String,” a community sock drive to benefit homeless men, women and children in Miami-Dade County.

“The gift of a new pair of white socks will provide comfort, warmth and dignity to homeless children and adults this holiday season,” said North Miami Beach Councilwoman Barbara Kramer.

Councilwoman Kramer is also on the board member of the Miami-Dade Homeless Trust

The sock drive will run now through November 6, 2014 – Homeless Awareness Day in Miami-Dade County. The donated socks will be given to Miami Rescue Mission and Lotus House.

New sock donations may be dropped off at the following locations:

North Miami Beach City Hall Lobby – 17011 NE 19th Avenue

Public Services Administration Building – 17050 NE 19th Avenue

Marjorie and William McDonald Center – 17051 NE 19th Avenue

McDonald Center – 17051 NE 19th Avenue

North Miami Beach Police Department Lobby –  16901 NE 19th Avenue

North Miami Beach Public Library – 1601 NE 164 Street
