This Spring Edition of the Opa-locka Review marks a new beginning for the Newspaper and our City. This issue has a brand new look to include English and Spanish language sections and includes stories and events that have taken place since the last edition as well as upcoming events.
I’d like to welcome our new City Attorney, Mr. Vincent T. Brown.
In response to the concerns of our residents we have completed the first two phases of our City’s Beautification Project and our IT Department is busily working to bring enhanced programming to our Opa-TV Station as well as our upcoming Internet Radio Station.
I am excited about our recent purchase of the Town Center building and continuing work for annexation.
In addition the City Commission along with City Manager Kelvin Baker, Sr. has begun investigations into how City Departments can be improved. A special emphasis was placed on Code Enforcement and now in an effort to strengthen Code Enforcement and customer service and are working closer with our constituents and the business community to foster more personable relationships.
Thank you for making Opa-locka Grand!
In your service,
“Lady” Myra L. Taylor Mayor
