Pinecrest, Palmetto Bay and Cutler Bay are joining together to bring you the 2015 Relay for Life event on Feb. 28, beginning noon, at Evelyn Greer Park.
It is a day of community that celebrates, remembers, and fights back against cancer. Not your usual relay, this non-competitive walk is a festival activity where the walking is simply going from one food, game and learning tent to another.
Enjoy the Pinecrest-sponsored shuttle with pickup at Palmetto High School and plan to stay an hour, or the night. The Relay lasts all night because cancer never sleeps.
If you are a cancer survivor, be an honored guest and help lead teams in the opening lap at noon. A complimentary lunch and gift bag are provided by Survivor Tent sponsors: Baptist Health Systems, Roaster ‘n’ Toasters and JoAnna’s Marketplace. There will be performances on the main stage, from noon until 11 p.m., presented by schools, businesses and local bands.
Early announced sponsors include Gus Machado Ford, Pinecrest Premier Soccer, Buchwald Jewelers and Biscayne Bank. To find out more information about how you can participate contact event chair Liz Albelo at email@example.com, or visit on Facebook, www.facebook.com/RelayForLifePinecrest2015.
Team development chairs, Cheri Ball and Heidi Feder, are available to work with new teams, contact Cheri at firstname.lastname@example.org.
