A Safe Haven for Newborns is all about saving newborns and eliminating infant abandonment throughout Florida. Founder Nick Silverio and A Safe Haven’s group of volunteers recently added Baby No. 240 to the list of those babies who were not abandoned and now have a chance at life, a home and a loving family.

Join A Safe Haven for the kickoff event at the Red Koi Thai and Sushi Lounge, 317 Miracle Mile in Coral Gables on Thursday, Feb. 18, from 6 to 9 p.m. A $20 donation grants you admission, one drink ticket for a vodka or beer, hors d’oeuvres and one raffle ticket.

Registration forms will be available for Walk Teams for the fourth annual 5K Walk, which willtake place on Saturday, Feb. 27, at Amelia Earhart Park, 401 E. 65th St., Pavilion #1, Hialeah and chaired once again by Norris Perez of Halo Branded Solutions.

Join firefighters, healthcare professionals, emergency response team members, corporate volunteers, students, volunteers and folks wanting to help save newborn babies from the ultimate in child abuse, abandonment. A barbecue will follow the Walk.
