Daphne Campbell first went to Tallahassee as a “voice for the voiceless” upon her election in 2010 to the Florida State Senate. She wishes to continue to fight for high-quality affordable healthcare, livable wages, and fully funded quality education in District 38 and statewide.

Campbell was born in Cap-Haïtien where she attended the SOD Nursing School, and received her bachelor’s degree in 1981. She moved to Florida later that year, became a registered nurse, and founded a chain of nursing homes.

Campbell secured state funding to restore Biscayne Park City Hall as well as the City of North Miami Library. In 2014, she helps pass legislation to honor police officers, correctional officers, state troopers, and first responders by recognizing them annually at the state capitol.

Her many affiliations include: Christian Coalition Against Domestic Abuse, Citizens’ Coalition for Public Schools, Democratic Black Caucus of Florida, and Habitat for Humanity.

In 2014 alone, Campbell received the City of Miami Gardens Recognition Award, Family Impressions Foundation Award of Appreciation; and a Certificate of Appreciation from the North Dade Council of Catholic Women.

For Florida State Senate District 38, Community Newspapers recommends Daphne Campbell.
