The Deering Estate offers free admission to all guests on Saturday, Aug. 15, and Saturday, Sept. 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., as part of the annual Fee-Free “PLAY” Days.
Guests can enjoy complimentary admission as well as hands-on science activities and self-guided historic house tours — all for free. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
The Fee-Free “PLAY” Days were created to honor the Deering Estate’s part- ner organizations and the community. Partner organizations and program partners will be onsite providing information and a variety of activities. The public can enjoy a variety of programs and activities — all for free!
Themes: Saturday, Aug. 15, highlighting Teachers and Environmental Educators, and Saturday, Sept. 19, highlighting Scouts.
Activities and programs on Saturday, Aug. 15, include: Ongoing self-guided historic house tours throughout the day; Mini-canoe/kayak tours at 10:30, noon, 1:30 and 3 p.m. (for a $10 fee; cash only and weather permitting);
Florida Yards and Neighbors Rain Barrel Workshop at 2:30 p.m. in the Pump House Classroom. Workshop is free; to purchase a rain barrel is $40; pre-registration is required to purchase a rain barrel. Limited space is available. Contact Lize Luna to register at 305-248-3311, ext. 242.

Special appearance by the Zoo Squad. Meet and greet these wonderful characters —Gigi the giraffe, Kaz the rhino, and Pio the red-billed oxpecker — they will delight you with their charm, unique personalities, lovable looks, and good work;
Food and beverages will be available for an additional fee.
The Deering Estate at Cutler, a Miami- Dade County Park, is located at 16701 SW 72 Avenue. This 444-acre natural and archeological preserve and historic site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and serves as a center for education, culture and recreation.
