Temple Judea in Coral Gables, one of Miami’s largest reform congregations, honored its 2014 Pillars of Judah, Mary and Howard Frank (Temple Judea members), on Apr. 5, during an event that raised about $200,000.

More then 240 people attended to support Howard Frank, who recently retired as vice chair and chief operating officer of Carnival Corporation (Carnival Cruises) and currently serves as a senior advisor to the chair and the CEO of Carnival. The Franks were honored for their dedication and commitment to Temple Judea over the years.

This year’s fundraiser was themed “La Dolce Vita: A Magical Night in Venice” with guests wearing Carnival-themed masks. The event took place at Temple Judea, 5500 Granada Blvd., and began with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres served at the Savor the Finer Things in Life silent auction, which included cruises, hotel destinations, restaurants, wine and jewelry. The silent auction was followed by an elegant dinner and dancing to the Valerie Tyson Band.
