Four Girls Digging For A Cause (4GDFAC) recently hosted a doubles sand volleyball tournament at Coral Reef Park on and raised nearly $1,400 for His House Children’s Home, a non-profit that provides residential care for abused, abandoned and neglected children.

Westminster Christian School (WCS) varsity volleyball players Quinn Blanco, Sophia Poveda, Gaby Miller and Connor Crotty, founded 4GDFAC this year in an effort to combine their love of the sport and their passion for helping others.

The event drew eight teams, made up of volleyball players from WCS, Carrollton and St. Brendan. The tournament started at 8 a.m. with pool play followed by the elimination round which lasted until noon.

In the end, Sophia Poveda and Gaby Miller were the winners, receiving gift cards donated by Blush Boutique in Palmetto Bay.

Event sponsors were Miami Elite Volleyball Club, Rosie Couture Collection, Learn Tutoring Services, Colliers International, Kings Bay Athletics, and Podium Graphic & Productions.

Four Girls Digging For A Cause will be organizing a community drive this fall to collect household items and school supplies needed by His House, and already are making plans for next year’s sand volleyball tournament.
