European kitchen in Pinecrest, FL

Driving on US1 in Pinecrest, I saw a shopping center on 112th Street which had a place called The Cheese Course. At first glance, I thought that it was only a shop and while I am always looking for small local restaurants with amazing food, cooking is always an option. Therefore, I like to find places where I can get special ingredients for my cooking. Out of curiosity, I went to The Cheese Course, a small, clean and modern bistro offering a wide variety of sandwiches, salads and charcuteries.

If you have a good taste for cheese and appreciate the uniqueness in meats such as prosciutto, Jamon serrano and a good sausage, do yourself a huge favor and visit the cheese Course at:

There are seven more locations in the United States but I will only blog about the new one in Pinecrest. My experiences of going there every weekend had been nothing but excellent, ah! I have become a frequent customer since my husband and I discovered the place a few weeks ago.

My first recommendation is the premium grilled pastrami, made with Swiss emmental cheese, pastrami, sauerkraut, Russian dressing and their home made fresh baguette. This warm temptation makes an exceptional brunch or a late lunch on a sunny or rainy day in Miami.

The portions are generous but not too much and since every bite is an outstanding and complex delight you won’t even realize when you are done with your sandwich. The perfect balance and secret of this mouth watering sandwich is the combination of Russian dressing along with the sauerkraut that, in my opinion, has to be used in small portions given that it could be overpowering, so hats off to you guys!

My favorite dish is the broccoli and cheddar soup made fresh and served everyday. This creamy and delicious creation is served with croutons and white cheddar. Its richness and freshness of ingredients will captivate your attention with the first taste. I feel like I just can’t get enough!

The salads are fresh, delicious and rich. You might want to order it with the cheese on the side or you might feel that the dish is overwhelming. I recommend the English green fields salad.

As far as pricing, The Cheese Course offers fair prices according to the high quality of its selections. This place offers a perfect setting for friends looking to spend some time chatting over life’s fortunes and misfortunes, accompanied of a glass of wine, beer, coffee or what have you, but overall enjoying casual life one sip, bite or conversation at a time.
