Thoughts of summertime are beginning to fill the air and building healthy bodies is on everyone’s mind. Let us take care of the kids while you take care of your health and fitness at the Alper JCC. Our newly remodeled J Play (formerly known as the babysitting room) is a safe and fun environment where your kids will engage in enjoyable, age-appropriate activities, as well as supervised play and crafts.
Relax and feel comfortable and secure while you work out, train, swim or enjoy a group fitness class knowing that your child (infants to 7 years) will be in the company of our hands-on, nurturing staff.
Alper JCC J Play professionals provide a superior standard of care, ensuring that our youngest JCC members are comfortable and happy in a place designed to inspire creativity and engage in developmentally appropriate activities.
At J Play our mini-members can expect special story-times, arts & crafts, music, games, and more! There’s plenty to do for kids of all ages.
J Play regular hours are: Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. to noon; Monday – Thursday: 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.; Sunday: 8:00 a.m. to noon. Please note that holiday schedules may vary. To keep our youngest members happy, we limit visits to a 2-hour maximum. See a J Play staff member for details on our guidelines. J Play is open to children of JCC members while they are utilizing the Fitness Center.
While summertime may seem like the perfect time to give kids a needed break from school, the need to stay active and engaged never goes on vacation. Yes, believe it or not, it is actually already time to start making plans for summer camp!
While our general Camp caters to kids up to 14 years old, the littlest ones (5 years and under) attend Preschool Summer Camp at the JCC Glen Greenstein Early Childhood Development Center for an enriching and playful experience. Our youngest campers enjoy a summer of exploration participating in activities including exploring nature, science, friendships, art, gymnastics, cooking, language development, Spanish, music and more.
Each session unfolds around fun summer themes to engage campers in new activities and unleash their creative imaginations.
In stimulating indoor and outdoor settings, campers build confidence as they play and learn together. From painting and art to nature walks and scientific investigations, days are filled with opportunities for questioning, creative expression and fun. Our tiniest campers also enjoy water and splash activities, creative movement/dance, music and rhythm, storytelling, hands-on projects, special events, character visits and dress-up days. Full or part time programs are most appropriate for kids in this age range. Kids of this age need a balance of high- and low-energy activities. Each week culminates with a festive Shabbat celebration.
Our summer teachers are skilled and creative early childhood educators who will facilitate a fun and stimulating experience for your child. Students enrolled in our new year round preschool program will receive discounted tuition. Registration is now open for ECD summer fun and year round preschool.
