Parenting expert Dr. Leonard Sax visits Palmetto Senior High

Best-selling author and internationally known parenting expert Dr. Leonard Sax presented from his book, “The Collapse of Parenting,” at Miami Palmetto Senior High School on Tuesday, Sept. 6. Dr. Leonard Sax is a physician and psychologist that has written many New York Times best-selling books on raising children.Dr. Sax was invited by the PTSA at Palmetto as part of an ongoing lecture series that is free and open to the community. Last year, the previous Dean of Stanford University, Dr. Julie Lythcott-Haims, presented her book, New York Times bestseller “How to Raise an Adult,” to a large audience of more than 200 hundred parents. The community has responded very favorably to this lecture series and reviews were favorable from the almost 100 parents that attended the evening lecture. Many stayed behind to speak with Dr. Sax who made himself available for questions and to sign books.Miami Palmetto Senior High and the PTSA hope to continue this effort of bringing in experts in the field to share their insights with the school and with the larger community.
