Starting in October, after a four year hiatus, our library’s Friday hours return, with additional staff and new programs coming on board as well.
• Monday and Thursday – 12:00 – 8:00 p.m.
• Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday – 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Closed on Sunday.
Over the last few months, Wednesday morning’s ever popular early literacy Toddler Time has had jam packed audiences of more than 100 little ones and their caregivers. Starting Friday mornings in November the library builds on this success and expands to a second weekly Toddler Time, adding a bi-lingual component.

MDPLS’s collection budget grew from less than $100,000 two years ago to $4million this fiscal year! Online the library has added on demand downloadable movies, music, comic books, television shows, audio books, eBooks, magazines, language courses, and a bounty of resources that save you time and money.
In house, our Pinecrest Branch celebrates its increased funding with monthly book and poetry clubs that inspire reading and bringing readers together. Group discussions enhance your reading experience by pointing out unique and varying viewpoints.
For popular fiction, the first Thursday club is for you. Enjoy Spanish literature? There’s a Tuesday afternoon Bookclub Para Usted.
Stop by the library on Wednesday, October 21st and you can be one of the founding members of the monthly Business Leadership Book Club.
Perhaps discover your poetic side with first Wednesday’s Miami Poet’s Afternoon Poetry Soiree or meet up with the Parrot Jungle Poets who flock to the branch on the third Mondays.
Try free yoga classes on Thursday evenings or settle your restless mind by exploring a new start-up Meditation program held three Saturdays of the month. That’s just a sampling of the library’s offerings, so jump on board.
