As you drive down Ponce, US 1 or San Amaro Drive on any afternoon during the week, you’ll hear a sweet sound — PING! The sound of aluminum crushing leather, a sound synonymous with college baseball.
Over the wall.
Head coach Jim Morris and the Miami Hurricanes baseball team are poised to extend the nation’s longest active postseason streak to 42 consecutive trips in 2014 and, hopefully, a trip to Omaha for the College World Series.
Thanks to our fans, more than 11,000 people saw the Canes win the weekend series (narrowly missing a sweep) of the rival Florida Gators at Mark Light Field. On the first night alone, we sold almost 500 milkshakes. That’s a lot of fans, a lot of ice cream and a lot of fun.
The Canes opened March with a six-game home stand against Villanova, Boston College and Bethune-Cookman. What’s better than baseball under the lights? Baseball under the lights at Mark Light Field, cheering on the hometown Miami Hurricanes.
Have I mentioned the milkshakes? Famous since 1989, Mark Light milkshakes came in more than 40 flavors. They are available only at Hurricanes baseball games – just another reason to watch games at The Light.
Our home field advantage is made possible because of our fans. We had amazing crowds for the Florida series and we need more games like that! And who can resist the Miami Maniac? He’s lovable, he’s huggable and no telling what kind of shenanigans he’ll be up to at the ballpark. You never know, maybe the Maniac will take your order at the game.
Season tickets to Miami’s 2014 season at Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field start for as a low as $99, with a Family Plan option (two adult tickets, three youth tickets) covering all 33 home games available for just $199.
