The local and tremendously talented four-piece acoustic SOLAR DOGS string band will light up the Keystone Stage at the historic Doc Thomas House on Sat., Feb 22. It will be the Coconut Grove band’s third season as part of the popular Conservation Concert Series that first hatched here in 2010.

SOLAR DOGS performs a wide-ranging repertoire of “Americana” music that includes traditional, contemporary and original material. Michael Stock, host of WLRN’s Folk and Acoustic Music program, describes SOLAR DOGS as “the definitive South Florida sound.” In addition to its highly anticipated annual appearance at Tropical Audubon Society, the band regularly performs at local venues including Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, Coconut Grove Sailing Club, Scotty’s Landing, Woody’s Tavern, Gifford Lane Art Stroll and Shell Lumber’s “Big Howl in the Wood.”
