The Alhambra Orchestra opens its 25th anniversary season on Sunday, Oct. 5, 7:30 p.m., with a lively All-American program featuring Aaron Copland’s Outdoor Overture, Leonard Bernstein’s Candide Overture and a medley from West Side Story, the Romantic Symphony by Howard Hanson, plus music by Samuel Barber and Charles Griffes.

Bring your family and friends to discover these wonderful works by American composers.

Timothy Shade, director of instrumental music at Bethel College, currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Miami Frost School of Music, leads the orchestra through this adventure of exploration.

There is free admission and free parking for the concert at Ransom-Everglades School, 3575 Main Hwy. in Coconut Grove.

Alhambra Orchestra is a non-profit community orchestra made up primarily of volunteer musicians. Interested musicians are welcome to audition. For additional information, call 305-668-9260, or send email to info@alhambramusic.org.
