The second Art Night of the season will be held this Friday, November 12. Held on the second Friday of the month (6p-9p) March, participating businesses throughout the South Miami Town Center serve as host venues showcasing local artists while offering guests some light refreshments.
By walking through our town center, Art Night visitors get to appreciate showcased art while also experiencing the uniqueness of our charming retail business establish-ments. The courtyard at the First National Bank of South Miami serves as ArtNight Headquarters, where visitors can pick up an ArtNight map and begin their walk through town. Participating venues cover the length of our town center, from Vilar Cigars and Deli Lane at US1 & Sunset to east of Red Road at the Dr. Thomas house, home of the Tropical Audubon Society. An addition to this year’s ArtNight is sidewalk displays of emerging artists throughout our town center.
Dressed in vivid artists smocks and greeting visitors, our Art Night Ambassadors will be eye-catching handing our SOMI Artwalk© maps and answering questions.
Concurrent with ArtNight is the first stage of the upcoming Manatee Fest, a public art display here in South Miami. On Friday, will be the unveiling of the large fiberglass manatees ( au natural) which will be painted by local artists and installed on private properties and public sidewalks for residents and visitors alike to admire and adore. The Manatee Fest unveiling party will be taking place at the First National Bank of South Miami, also from 6-9p.
Special Art Night $3.00 discounted parking is available at the PLAZA 57 Garage and the surface lots at the First National Bank of South Miami. Both are located on SW 73 Street.
