Located in the Seybold Building, 36 NE 1 St., in downtown Miami for more than 60 years, Buchwald Jewelers is a family-owned business founded in 1932 by Joseph Buchwald. Before settling in Miami, Buchwald owned jewelry stores in Antwerp, Atlantic City, New York and
Miami Beach. Marc Buchwald and his brother Jeff began managing the business 10 years ago, taking over from their uncle, Bobby Buchwald.
Marc Buchwald says he has always had a passion for the jewelry business and decided to make it his career after graduating the University of Florida.

When the Buchwald family members located the business in the Seybold Building in the 1960s, they initiated a trend that was followed by other jewelers.
The location was developed as a jewelry community in the 1970s. Eventually, it became the largest jewelers’ building in the state and the second-largest building dedicated to the jewelry business in the United States.
