A runway fashion show featuring the three grand-prize winners of the I Am The Maven and Mami and Me kids model contest will be held at Cool-de-sac in The Shops at Sunset Place in South Miami at 6 p,m, November 12.
Families are invited to attend the event to celebrate Mami and Me’s new holiday/resort collection of chic coordinating outfits for moms, babies and kids. More than $1500 in raffle prizes will be awarded at the event from Viva Verde Eco- Chic Boutique, Lucrecia Diaz Photography, Mami and Me, Cool-de-sac and I Am The Maven.
“Our clothing collection is manufactured with genuine care and attention to detail, right here in Miami,” said Tatiana da Silva, owner of Mami and Me. “It is an honor to partner with all these wonderful local moms and businesses for this project,”
In October, I Am the Maven and Mami and Me, two of South Florida’s leading mom-owned businesses, partnered to discover fresh local talent among children (age 3-5) who live in Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
“We know that every parent thinks their child is adorable, so we weren’t surprised to receive over 130 entries for the model contest. We were particularly pleased to see such cultural diversity amongst the entries,” says Whitney Zimet, founder of I Am The Maven.
In early November, ten semi-finalists were selected for a mini-photo shoot and audition, each receiving prizes valued at nearly $150. From that group, three grand-prize winners will walk the runway at Cool-de-Sac November 12.
Winners will also model in a professional photo shoot for Mami and Me’s online catalog and print advertisements, receive more than $700 in prizes, including unlimited admission to Cool-de-sac through May 31, 2011. Each will also receive a personalized photo book from Lucrecia Diaz Photography.
