In a program that Executive Vice President, Veronica Birch Flores calls “Get Fit and Famous,” First National Bank of South Miami recently teamed up with Community Newspapers and Fitness Together to recognize and reward two employees as part of the bank’s top performers program. The two employees will receive six personalized 30- minute fitness sessions, courtesy of Fitness Together in South Miami. Fitness Together will continue to award two new employees each month with complimentary fit- ness sessions until December 2010.

“For over 20 years, the bank has had a recognition program in place that rewards a ‘Staffer of the Month,’ said Ms. Flores. “Now, we’re also recognizing an ‘Officer of the Month’ and have added the reward from Fitness Together to go along with the coveted, designated parking space and the gift certificates that we’ve always offered.”

Diane Everett, Personal Banking Manager, Vice President was awarded “Officer of the Month.” Ms. Everett is responsible for the daily operations of the Kendall Office and has been with the bank for 20 years and in the banking industry for over 30 years.

“It’s always very nice to be recognized and get a pat on the back,” said Ms. Everett. “I’m ready for my sessions at Fitness Together. The question is… are they ready for me?”

Miguel Perez, Personal Banking Representative, was recognized as “Staffer of the Month.” Mr. Perez has over eight years of banking experience and his main focus is to provide superior customer service by providing and delivering the best possible solutions for his clients. Mr. Perez said, “It was a really nice surprise. I’ll be calling Mr. Baumann to arrange my workouts.”

Scott Baumann, owner of Fitness Together said that he was glad to partner with First National and offer these complimentary sessions because he feels that it’s important to reach out to the local community.

“If I can help people to take that first step to get started with a fitness program, they will quickly realize that they can fit it into their schedule,” Mr. Baumann said. “You can work out for 30 minutes during your lunch break a few times each week and really make a difference in your total health.” First National Bank of South Miami is located at 5750 Sunset Drive in South Miami and the phone number is 305-667-5511.
