Miami-Dade County Commissioner Xavier L. Suarez, District 7, identifies an ideal site for Miami’s Major League Soccer (MLS) Stadium.

suarez (1)The Board of County Commissioners passed a resolution authorizing Mayor Carlos Gimenez to identify, negotiate, and finalize an agreement with David Beckham and Major League Soccer to build a new soccer stadium in the heart of Miami’s urban core, which includes the area adjacent to Miami International Airport (MIA).

Commissioner Xavier Suarez has identified just that: use the 8.5 acres of government-owned land just east of Miami’s mass transit hub, the Miami Intermodal Center (MIC), adjacent to NW 37th Avenue, and the Dolphin Expressway.

Attached is a memo that Commissioner Suarez sent to the rest of the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), highlighting details and comparing his preferred locations. Additionally, please refer to the attached sketch of the project, as well as an email from Neisen Kasdin, who represents the interests of Mr. David Beckham.
